À 18 ans, Léo a choisi l’alternance pour allier théorie et pratique. Découvrez son parcours chez Nord Motors et ses ambitions pour le futur !

40% theory 60% practice
Léo joined the team of technicians at Nord Motors’ Northern agency in September 2024 through a two-year apprenticeship contract. At just 18 years old, this program allows him to balance student and professional life.
Léo chose the apprenticeship path after completing his first year of higher education to make his studies more hands-on. After earning his high school diploma with a focus on math, physics, chemistry, and English in 2023, he decided to enroll in a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering and Maintenance: “Spending 40% of my time at university and 60% practicing was a real source of motivation for me.” After spending his first year entirely at university, he, like many of his classmates, opted for an apprenticeship for the next phase of his studies: “In my class, we are all hired by industrial companies, but with very diverse missions.”
A partnership with ULCO university
From September to January, Léo split his time between attending classes at ULCO (Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale) in Saint-Omer and working in the Nord Motors workshop in Eperlecques. He enjoys this balance, which allows him to integrate into the professional world while learning technical skills from his colleagues. He has appreciated the workshop’s atmosphere and the variety of tasks he has performed there.
A few weeks ago, Léo transitioned to working alongside our methods engineer, continuing his apprenticeship within our design office. He traded his wrench for a computer and CAD software, designing plans in preparation for an industrial project.
In my class, we are all hired by industrial companies, but with very diverse missions.

Dreaming of the future
Léo is taking his time to gain experience and refine his career plans, but he knows he wants to stay in the technical and industrial field. When asked about his current personal dreams, his answer is much more precise: “Traveling far, far away… to Chile!” he says with a big smile.
At Nord Motors, we are committed to supporting young professionals by regularly welcoming interns and apprentices. Our Le Havre team also has two young technicians in training: Hugo and Bastien, to whom we wish success too.
